Does ANYONE have the infection figures OF Covid19 for SAX, ELDA, PETRER . I want to know whats going on if I'm in lockdown.

https://www.ovulation-calculators.com/coronavirus/es/elda.

I live in Petrer and came across this ....If these figures are correct , then you will be very happy to see the figures ...I was under the impression the figures were in the forties for Elda / Petrer ,But again I repeat these figures are ,for a change , very encouraging ...check it out ,but for some reason it does nt give Petrer , just Elda , but they are one and the same ,,,I hope ..take care and don’t get complacent keep isolating till the all clear ...stay safe :-)

And I hope thissite is correct

Thank you. I have already seen this and as much as I would like to believe those figures I don't think they are correct. I managed to get a contact from a Nurse in Elda Hospital on Sax facebook yesterday. She told me even she didn't know the numbers but that there were a lot of infections and with people coming with other pathologies the hospital was at it's limit and that people were scared. So not great news. I have a feeling they are not telling us the figures in case it causes panic, but it's just my feeling on this. Stay safe and thanks again.

I saw TV Doctor Hilary on GMB this morning telling us masks were not necessary WHAT ?? Anyone who also saw him, please totally disregard . Professor Kim in South Korea, who by the way is one of the Worlds leading experts on Corona virus's and has dealt with SARS Swine flu etc says the exact opposite. South Korea , Singapore, Taiwan all have the lowest rates of infections. So I think they, as well as other leading Specialists like Professor Kim know better than a TV Doctor. Professor Kim, ( check him out on U-Tube )  says he can't understand why the west don't wear masks in a situation like this, he goes on to say "maybe it's a cultural thing  as in Asia it it a natural thing to do and has contributed to low infection rates."  Why does this idiot TV Doctor think health care workers wear masks ?? In Japan, they have been doing tests with technology around the spray of a sneeze and also found if a person who's infected not wearing a mask and 2 metres away could infect others if they just shouted as the droplets are miniscule. So I hope I've convinced anyone reading this to wear a mask. If you can't get hold of one, google or U-Tube how to make your own. I made one with a hoover bag. Stay safe everyone.

Bo, thanks. Besides this "April fool" thread there are at least 3 separate posts, on this forum, entitled:

"Face masks".

"face masks"

& "masks".

some discussion regarding the wearing (or not) of them. Some agree with Doctor Hillary.

Oh okay thanks. I think people have to take responsibility for their own lives. Don't be a sheep and do some research and get the facts. If they agree with a TV Doctor over the World's leading experts, I despair. But hey ho, it's their choice.

I wear a mask ! The way I look at it is , if I sneeze / cough , then the droplets are going inside my mask ...Yeh? Not the atmosphere ...and if someone passes me sneezes ...yes there is a chance of it reaching me...A mask “might not” help ,but it makes me feel a. It more secure , and I agree with other comments on here ...it might or it might not help ...but I still think it’s better than not wearing one , and can’t understand why people don’t wear them...again ,it might or not help , but prevention in any shape , is better than nothing ..,No ?

I agree with that "Don't be a sheep and do some research and get the facts"

There are two sides which flock to one theory or the other.

Thanks for your input. Keep safe.

Allan 01, i agree with your post. There was an item on the BBC last night showing research in the US that demonstrated when someone sneezes some microdroplets can project up to 8 metres. They did not have any figures for coughing. Sneezing is not listed as a common symptom of covid-19 but as we are going into allergy season and people could be carrying the virus but not yet showing symptoms then wearing a mask would be a good way of minimising the risk of infecting others. Mostly when experts say masks do not help I believe they are referring to them stopping the virus from infecting the person wearing the mask.

On balance I think wearing a mask would be a good idea when in proximity to others. If you cannot get a mask even a scarf over your face would help..

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

This has been discussed on other threads & posts. In addition to RayD´s point. There is also the possibility of the wearer of the mask, spectacles scarves or whatever is placed on & around the mouth, nasal or eyes receiving any virus. The answer (as with the advice regarding cleaning) is to wash or discard as soon as possible in order to avoid unnecessary continued contact. The wearer, however does aid in reducing other persons in the vicinity. IE: health/police & "front-line" workers.
