And just added another £750 million rescue package for uk charities 👏👏👏

Correct Dirsantapola. Inevitably It will all have to be eventually paid for, probably by future increased Taxation and even further cuts to Local Authority funding, but for now it is keeping the wheels turning and aiding a more Speedy economic recovery than would be the case if less had been done.

E.U countries will no doubt eventually provide further support for their members but the answer to the question over how it will be paid for ,and who gets what, is something only the future will provide.

Besides organizing the workforce & self-employed in conjunction with locking them down, there has got to be a game plan (as we move through the pandemic) without a re-occurrence during the next weeks/months.

Villas, thanks for the link ,it was most informative.

After the best part of four weeks of lockdown ,these plans will offer some reassurance but, it does beg the question of why have that sector of the workforce had to wait and worry for such a very long time  ?

Much more joined up thinking is going to be required in future if the Spanish economy is to stabilize after lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Agree: Much more joined up thinking is going to be required in future if the Spanish economy.

In 4 weeks ago, I/we saw the preparations to "lockdown" commence Fri 13th.

The day before & during the day,the public were flocking to bars, restaurants & sporting & crowded venues, kissing & hugging. I saw one mask. Much has changed in 4 weeks. It is now (in hindsight) to say, "what should have & will occur.

https://en.brinkwire.com/news/coronavirus-uk-food-shortage-fears-unless-40k-volunteer/

The UK faces food shortages unless 70,000 Britons ‘do their duty’ by harvesting the country’s fruit and vegetables for £15-an-hour with the global pandemic also disrupting the flow of imported goods.  So here is the future for the UK and the EU. Universal Basic Income provided you 'do your duty' by being a fruit/veg picker. Nothing wrong with this type of work but it looks to be mandatory moving forward,,,,,,unless I am looking into my crystal ball wrong.
