If you're a resident, your passport shouldn't be stamped for some reason.

If your a non resident it gets stamped.

If they had stamped my passport, it wouldn't bother me because if they ever came chasing me for staying over 90 days then I would just give them my TIE card to prove I'm resident 🤣🤣🤣

Sue 😘

That's why I asked. Only thing is might fill your passport up quicker if you travel a lot?

I suppose it would do.  I think is all silly getting stamped and not getting stamped.

I just follow the rules( I'm not saying other people don't) 👍

Sue 😘

The issue would arise if you were to leave the Schengen area other than via Spain with a stamp in your passport. Whilst a Spanish border guard should easily recognise the TIE and therefore be able work out you haven't overstayed your 90 days under the WA it could be very different if leaving via Germany/Greece/Estonia/Austria etc. etc. to explain to those border guards what your TIE was all about. Yes, the TIE is a recognised European document but you are relying on all of Europeans border entry/exit points to know that. Easier to ask them not to stamp it on entry to Spain.

Good point Sue, thanks for highlighting.

I've heard of a couple of cases this week where TIE card holders returning back from the UK have has their passport stamped, Surely this can't be right can it ?

Regards

Gary

Why does stamping your passport matter anyway if you have TIE
