Could it be that UK government's economic consideration outweighs any health issues, otherwise why schools & businesses are still open ? There is no lock-down as in Spain.
I think that's unfair. I'm not a fan of the Tories, in fact, the opposite, I'm long time member of the labour party, but I think it's unfair some of the criticism the government have been getting. Are they putting economic considerations above health? I don't see how anyone can say that. If (big IF) what they have announced is taken at face value, they are doing a lot to support businesses of all sizes. More is needed, but they've said this is just the start.
why schools & businesses are still open?
Many businesses are not. Many businesses that can continue, or indeed need to continue, are remaining in operation. What should they do? Should ALL business just stop? Can you even begin to imagine the catastrophic repercussions of that?
Why are schools open? Why close them? But, suspect that is being announced anyway later today. Regardless, there seem to be good medical and social reasons to keep them open and not that much pointing to closing them, other than to appease the herd.
As I say, as a Labour member it's not in my nature to support a Tory government, but given the circumstances, and the fact that this is uncharted waters, and the fact that they appear to be doing what few governments around the world are doing: Following proper scientific and medical advice, I think everyone needs to get on the same page.
