I'm not familiar with asthma inhalers and if there are different varieties, however, I found this link from 2022, which quotes a price for Ventolin blue inhaler:

Thanks very much for that, I don't have an issue with getting a prescription from the GP if there only going to be €2.50 ish

It is my understanding they can be bought over the counter without a prescription. Just take along the empty container and the pharmacist will advise. There are many other medications available without prescription.

Those 70 euro inhalers must be some super special type. My son in law buys them here OTC for a couple of euro as they are so cheap. They allow him 2 at a time but he just goes to different pharmacies. I think they cost less than 3 euro each.

Inhalers I believe can be very Expensive, €70 a go I've heard.

I think the prices John123456 has quoted will be the 10% payable by those in the system. People on particularly low incomes pay nothing.

But those prices are if you are in the Spanish health system.   The poster is, I think, going private so the full price of medication has to be paid.

The prices I quoted are the retail, over the counter price. I am in the Spanish health system and pay 10% of the price quoted. This was explained earlier.

I have been with DKV for over 4 years even though I also have access to the Spanish State healthcare system. Its a safety net while I can still afford it. I have had no issues with DKV in all that time.

€70 an inhaler!! Can that be correct? My son, wife and one of my daughter's need them alone

I'm just back from Spain and an inhaler with a prescription was 2.40€. A private prescription costs 60€. Use your health card and do not go to private dr

Only problem is the OP does not have a healthcard. He has to go private on his insurance. However, my son in law gets inhalers without prescription at our pharmacy just be showing his old one. No prescription required. And, yes, the cost is about 2.50 to 3.00 euro.
