Need to visit a doctor for my mum

Hi all, we are flying on the 3rd Jan and think my elderly mother may have a chest infection. Want her to see a doctor. Can I just take her to the medical centre to see someone as doesn’t warrant a hospital visit?Thanks in adv

Assuming your mother is non-resident, then make sure she has her EHIC & passport when you go to the medical centre. Hopefully they'll regard it as an emergency and therefore covered by the EHIC.

I'd just turn up. It depends on your health centre, but it might be quieter towards the end of the session. I doubt you'd be able to make an appointment, as the computer system for this needs the number of the patient's Spanish health card.

Hi Caroline not sure if there’s a medical centre in Torre I would go to Cabo roig next to the Thai.

Thanks for your replies. We visited one in Pilar and she was seen last night. Now has antibiotics for a chest infection so well worth the visit. Thanks for your help!
