I believe Boots offer a test with same day result

Not quite sure if Boots test is classed as acceptable for travel. I found one in London that works all over Xmas 24/7 so we may use them to fly out 26th Dec

We have booked to come over 26th December, but obviously in doubt .

Even if things were to be semi back to normal the 72 hours notice would take me to 23/12 and I doubt if tests would be analysed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to give us a result for our health form entering Spain.

Looks like another Ryanair change hahaha

Re.Ryan air we have booked for 18 th dec

Edinburgh to Alicante but so far Ryan air have not taken the payment made

But we have our boarding passes

And our bank has been showing it as a pending transaction

Conclusion Ryan air are up to their usual self serving games by ensuring they do not lose out

So anyone booking with them be very very careful because they know how to keep your money once they have it

I suspect they are investigating the consequences of Flying anybody to Spain that does not have the legal requirement of NEG.PCR test 72 hrs prior

This whole scenario has massive dangers for them

Such as

1 Is your Neg Test and tester recognised by Spain

2.Exactly what is the start time to comply with 72 hrs

Is it backwards from your arrival time in Spain

What if your flight delayed in any matter and your arrival is past the 72 hrs

3.Will your carrier be held responsible by the authorities if you arrive with a invalid but NEG PCR test

The maze of legal possibilities are a legal nightmare for any Airline if they get it wrong

Spain has not thought this through properly by ensuring Airlines know full well what their legal duties are regarding this matter

And E.G.  what happens if Someone arrives with a forged or non approved test/tester

Does the Airline become implicated by failing to make all requisite checks prior being allowed to board OR do they just DUMP you in Spain and leave you to take your chances with a Neg.PCR test that just might be invalid in Spanish Eyes

We now have a puzzle within a enigma

Over to you Mr.Lawyer

Hi,

Thanks for that David.

I'm actually moving to San Miguel next Saturday, by land and sea.

If this is going to be compulsory from 23rd Nov, I'll already be there.

However, does anyone know if we therefore need or not need to show a negative covid test now?

Thanks

Soraya

Hello,

If, like normal, this this will come into effect from midnight on 22nd Nov, then, as you state, you will be here, so no  specific  requirement for test.

Cheers

It wasn't though. Spain have introduced this without agreeing it with EU partners. Balearic Tourism and others are not happy at all about the lack of communication and uniformity and have complained asking that the Spanish Govt covers the costs as the Islands cannot withstand another year without...

... visitors.

Hello

This taken from El pais in English, so not the information  I have read.....

"Health minister Salvador Illa said the government took the measure in line with guidelines established by the EU last month. He said that EU members had opted for the use of “diagnostic tests and not quarantines” to enable safe travel inside the bloc."

Balearic Islands are included but Canary Islands excluded

my son has been quoted £200 if he wants it quickly.  His flight is 6.45 in the morning so that day is out for counting hours.

Hi, yes guidelines have been laid down, but are not unilateral, hence many have quarantining and France 'strongly advises' a pcr test but not compulsory as they allow isolation at home too- which given the amount of second home owners is more sensible.

Yes well,

I bet if that happened and tried to claim, we would not be able to.

It’s all complex now
