Just to let you know guys, Ryanair only allow one change free of charge. We had a flight recently that we’d moved once free of charge due to the Welsh lockdown, then tried again when England was put in lockdown meaning we couldn’t travel and we had to pay to change it. Was much cheaper to swallow the original flight cost than pay fees to change.

Several people here on this discussion are blaming the Spanish government for bringing in this rule.

This is an Eu rule that was agreed by all Eu member states.

Yes this quite true.

All governments liaise daily about Covid and most of the restrictions are very similar to each other.

The question these guys have to answer now, is do they put economics before health and deaths etc or do they sacrifice all those people to ensure the economy has a chance of some form of recovery.

I am a doctor in the UK and work in acute medicine, I have seen first hand what Covid can and does do. It is truly shocking.

Hi,

Thanks for that David.

I'm actually moving to San Miguel next Saturday, by land and sea.

If this is going to be compulsory from 23rd Nov, I'll already be there.

However, does anyone know if we therefore need or not need to show a negative covid test now?

Thanks

Soraya

No I don’t think that there us a need until the 23rd when it comes into force.

Look at the UK Gov for updated information.

It’s updated when there are changes made

for all countries.

I was going back to the Uk for a few days before Christmas, but this new requirement makes the trip very problematic.

From what I’ve read, private tests are taking 3 days to come back with the result ... and the test needs to be taken within 72 hrs (3 days) of arrival into Spain.

Is anyone aware of how a trip can be achievable? I don’t want to get stuck in the Uk!

I believe Boots offer a test with same day result

It wasn't though. Spain have introduced this without agreeing it with EU partners. Balearic Tourism and others are not happy at all about the lack of communication and uniformity and have complained asking that the Spanish Govt covers the costs as the Islands cannot withstand another year without visitors.
