Do kids over 12 still need to have 2 doses of covid vaccinations to enter Spain? Our family holiday is booked for February and my granddaughter is not due her 2nd dose until March 😫. Could she get into Spain with like a fit to fly test (like a PCR test or something). If not our holiday won't go ahead.

Hi scotslady,

I'm afraid it's not looking good - the attached information from Gov.UK states that children over 12 years of age have to be fully vaccinated to enter Spain.  There's no suggestion that an Antigen test or Covid recovery certificate are currently acceptable alternatives, but rules do change, so it would be worth bookmarking the website page to receive alerts for any updates.

Similarly, the attached page from Spain's health ministry https://www.mscbs.gob.es/en/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov/spth.htm does not mention alternatives to full vaccination being sufficient for entry to Spain either.

Kind regards,

Kim

Yes, at the moment Spain requires that everyone from aged 12 and over must have 2 vaccine doses of approved  vaccines to qualify as fully vaccinated. If not fully vaccinated they are not allowed entry. One dose and a negative test are not enough to gain entry.

Not sure when the rules are due to be reviewed, maybe someone else of here can advise.

Rgds,

Aitch.

We came over on 23/12/21 family of 6 including my 12 year old son. He has 1 dose ( 2 doses not possible at time ) and we also did a fit to fly test for him to bring with us. When filling out the locator form it let us continue & my son was given a Qr code like the rest of us. Ryanair checked all our documents & let us through, when landing we had to show our locator forms & that was it.

Hi DlsantapolaI, It's so disappointing and frustrating. They also need to have had their Jag 14 days before you arrive in Spain so that's another 2 weeks to take into consideration. It's all beyond belief 😫

Hi kev. All kids even under 12 need to fill in the locator Forms to acquire their QR code just like adults. But it's getting the proof of vaccinations that is the problem (when only had 1 vax). You wouldn't be able to get that and were lucky they didn't ask to see his proof. We're hoping that Spain changes that rule soon. 🤞🤞

Hi All,

This is an excerpt from the official Spanish Government statement on Covid entry requirements:

Passengers coming from countries or areas of risk, considered as such according to the assessment of their epidemiological situation at all times, will be required to certify any of the following health requirements:

a) Certificate confirming that the holder has received a vaccine against COVID-19 (vaccination certificate).

b) Certificate indicating the result of a Diagnostic Test of Active Infection of COVID-19 that has been carried out by the holder (diagnostic certificate).

c) Certificate confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 (certificate of recovery).

The key word here is ANY, which I read as you can have a), b) or c) but don't need all of them.

We have a holiday booked at the end of Feb and our 14Yr old daughter has only had 1 jab but had Covid last September.

More detailed information is included here - https://www.sanidad.gob.es/en/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov/spth.htm

This info is updated every week.

Best of luck.
