Interesting in the difference between the two airlines. Overall the experiences seem a acceptable and I would consider flying based on this information.

I think I would ensure I filled in the online form just to make sure.

Thanks again to all for sharing.

Hi Steve,

We flew from Gatwick to Alicante on the 6th July. The airport was deserted except for security personnel and we were able to check in and get through security quickly as there was no queue there either. All the on airport shops were shut except Duty Free and WH Smith’s and Boots. All travellers wore masks and as we entered the EasyJet gate we were boarded according to rows. Flight only half full no drinks or food served and if you needed to use the toilets only 2 people allowed to wait at one time.

When we arrived at Alicante we were released from the plane in rows at a time so very safe and passport control; was easy when we entered the baggage hall the Spanish Health forms we filled out on line before arriving were scanned and we were on our way. Since being here the mask wearing is the norm everywhere compared to the U.K. feels very safe and much better than in the U.K.

Travelled from Manchester. Airport was eerily quiet, nothing open and lights dimmed. However flight with Easyjet was about 3/4 full and everyone had a mask on.

I noticed on my trip through northern England no one wearing masks in service stations, shops or restaurants. Only saw about 100 folk in total though, so maybe not reflective of population.

As others say, procedure at Alicante is straightforward enough and you're through fairly speedily in circumstances.

It's great to be back out here after 5 months away. All my friends and neighbours are in great form and families are down from Bilbao and Madrid adding to the sense of normality returning. Everyone in local area is wearing masks, so feels much more safer as a result.

As long as we all comply then the recent surges can be contained. I think authorities maybe have to close down nightclubs though, given the rise in younger infections.

Anyway, great to be here folks.

Sunday 19 July returned from Alicante to Birmingham Jet2, reasonably quiet and a smooth border control system, constantly reminding to wear your mask over the tannoy in most languages.  Food and duty free is available. My flight was on time , flight was a quarter full so crew gave you the choice to move if you wanted too. Which most did and therefore we had a row to ourselves. Excellent service all the way with food drinks & duty free. The coach from the aircraft was a little too cosy but reminded again to keep mask on, I personally wore a visor aswell so felt I was being extra vigilant.  We were reminded to have our completed Health Locator form ready to show at passport control, but not needed as far as I was concerned , unless random people were asked .? All in all a okay experience, top marks to Jet2.

I flew Ryanair yesterday from Alicante to Ireland.   Alicante airport very quiet, no problem social distancing. The plane was half full. There were people all around me, but spare seat beside me and a full 3 seats free across the row, that is until somebody sat there 3/4 ways into the flight.

No such thing as social distancing when getting on or off.

A man in front of me rarely put his mask on and some older men had theirs around their chins and would pull up when the air hostess was near.  Reluctant to fly again for a few months.
