My friend is 63 and is having is first jab on Tuesday I asked why when some 80s have not had there’s, he’s getting the Astra Zeneca ( I think ) as that’s the one for under 65s.

Just to say, my husband had text yesterday for vaccine in Torrevieja next week. 2nd jab appointment for June. He is 64.
We registered at local salud for the vaccine and it's worked!

Hi
Our local salud is Acequion, our neighbours told us.
Depends where you live. We are Los Balcones.

You are very lucky, I have a residency card and am over 70, tried to register at salud in Torrevieja, but was told NO, and asked for a Ehic card? I am convinced 1 or 2 things are happening either the receptionist has no clue what she is doing or they are being obstructive for some reason. That's ...

They have run out of the vaccine to give the over 65 year olds. So the under 65 year olds are getting the vaccine before us.

Thank you very much. I thought it could be a different center, I am in La Loma , central Torrevieja, they seem to be behind. Thanks again.Gigger.

We are both residents registered with the San Luis Health centre, we are 71 and 66, we have not received anything!!
I guess you are right about the under 65s being Astra-Zeneca and who knows what for the others.

Hi Mike,
Probably Pfizer/BioNTech for the top end of the 65 to 79 years age group. The roll out of Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) single-dose vaccine is scheduled from 19 April, so it could be that one as they work down through the group. I also heard from my Spanish teacher today that the Spanish central government is considering raising the age range for AstraZeneca to 70 🤔
Stay safe,
Kim

Hi Gillian,
When you say you are in the process of getting residency, have you been approved and just waiting to collect your TIE cards?
For those of us with private health care, you need to register at your local health centre. You need to take your TIE with you, along with your Padron certificate, proof of PHI cover and provide a Spanish phone number. Some health centres are insisting on an EHIC, so if you have one that's valid, take that too, although it's not required according to Generalitat Valenciana's health ministry.
Kind regards,
Kim
