It must be ok a majority voted for brexit believing all the misinformation being spread by the brexit campaign. I hear fisherman and farmers are over the moon about the the actually outcome of brexit .

Locknut,

My understanding of the brexit agreement is somewhat different to what you have heard.

No 1. Very difficult to please everyone

No 2. We sell are farming and fishing produce to the EU

No 3. The EU would not have brought our produce had we insisted on a complete stop to Eu countries fishing our waters

No 4. I believe the agreement is a gradual  withdrawal from our waters with the EU buying more produce as we go.

No5. We don’t have enough trawlers/fishermen at the moment to cope.

The argument over shellfish is an entirely different thing with the EU reneging on an agreement and the UK about to respond banning EU drinking water or such like.

The EU is constantly trying to bully the UK , think about what happened in Dover with the EU blocking the tunnel, the way it chucked all its toys on the floor over their lack of the vaccine, France,Germany and Italy all saying the Oxford vaccine doesn’t work...

The Uk govt produced figures only last night to dispel those ridiculous child like remarks.

I’m glad the UK is out of the EU, look how well the pounds doing since we left, that should tell you something, something any pensioners living in Spain should benefit from immediately...

On Thursday 23 June 2016 the EU referendum took place and the people of the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union. Immediate prior months: GBP-EUR 1.43 (approx).

During the subsequent 58 month´s discussions,(approx average) GBP-EUR 1.10-1.11

[".....something any pensioners living in Spain should benefit from immediately ?"]... When/or/if, the pensioners have absorbed their losses over the last 5 years.

"The Pound fell 16% against the Euro in the 4 months following the Brexit referendum, including 6% on the actual day of the result.

The rate has yet to rebound to pre-Brexit levels."

Hi,

All those figures you quote are while we were in the EU , note the pound was going down in value, now we have left it is rising hopefully back to those wonderful levels.

Currency’s need stability and being a member EU doesn’t seem to provide that.

The pounds rise is attributed to the uks brilliant performance with the vaccine and you could also imply the Eu s very bad performance.

I’m waiting to hear when I can go and get my vaccine ,your waiting to hear if the EU has got one....

In my opinion, vaccine nationalism is one of the ugliest elements of the pandemic. It’s a very bad look.

That’s a strong argument, but it’s not well fleshed out. I suspect you might not be persuadable to my position, so have a nice day.

Hi,

A little bit of research reveals that in June 2016 the pound to euro exchange rate was in fact 1-22 not the lofty figures you were quoting....it’s 1-16 today and heading north.

Yesterday’s road map announcement might curtail its growth but hopefully the pound will continue to grow against most currencies and maybe soon we can be back in the 1-20 region...

Can you expand on what you mean by       "vaccine nationalism"?
