Hi, Perhaps you need to apply a bit more pressure. We have bought 3 properties in Spain over the years and the last one from viewing to completion took 10 days!
We have a lovely place overlooking the sea in Moraira, Northern Costa Blanca. We moved over on a permanent basis nearly two years ago. We count ourselves lucky in regard to material things. However over the last few months we have increasingly become aware that family mean much more and we also released we were missing being part of our grandchildrens everyday life, school runs, grand children just walking in and shouting "hi Nana" whats in the fridge lol. We, to put it simply missed our family. We have now moved back to the UK and yes we miss Spain and the many benefits..but to be honest we are very content now...nothing can beat the cuddle of a grandchild. We still have our property and visit 2/3 times a year....would we live in Spain permanently again....no we wouldn't. Good luck to everyone who decides to take the plunge....we are all different.

Hi
We, Michelle & Tony, always discussed when we retire to Spain, given we are 47 & 49 it seemed a long way away, then came Brexit ... so we decided to sell up in the UK, we arrived in Spain middle of dec last year 2017, found a place on Xmas eve and are hoping to complete in a few weeks.
Dont be in too much of a rush with the Solicitor, 2 more ‘owners’ came out of the woodwork when our Solicitor was doing the necessary, had we rushed her this could have been missed and it would have bitten us on the bum later. I send the Solicitor an email every few days saying how’s it going, and I’m sure shes looking after our best interests so it will take as long as it takes, we are dealing with Spanish sellers and inheritance and waiting for the Sellers (all 4) have caused our delays, but we have the rest of our life here so a few weeks doesnt matter in the scheme of things.
My advice to those worrying about work issues, is sod it, lets go do it, we might not be here in 2, 5, 10 years and life in Spain is slower, cheaper in most cases and the warmer weather is better for you then the cold damp weather in the UK. There is work out here if you are prepared to do just about anything for your pocket money, and plenty of British have businesses out here if you are looking for more than just pocket money.
We will probably go back to work in the future, but for now we are enjoying some deserved time off after 31 years working in the UK
DO IT YOU ARE ONLY HERE ONCE 😁

We sold our house last year after a happy 22 years of ownership and we used our home for about 3 months a year. We have now bought a new Motorhome out of the profits of our sale of our Playa Flamenca property. Whilst we did enjoy the home we feel that now we have more flexibility of when and where we go and not just keep going to the same place time and time again. For example we are going to France and Croatia in March in the Motorhome and can obviously decide to stay in many different places and see a lot more of the countries we visit.
We haven`t discounted having another place in Spain but i think we will just rent a place for 2/3 months at a time which for a 2 B/R place will cost approx €300 to €400 per month and not have all the hassle that comes with owning a home. We can then try out new places in Spain, as when we were in Spain regularly we would visit different parts and often say we wished we could stay there for a while instead of being shackled to one place. Just a thought
