Hi, we have been in Spain now for eight weeks and soon will collect our TIE cards. We are on a NL visa. We need to urgently return to the u.k to sort out our property there. Does anyone know if we have to have been in Spain a certain amount of time before we can leave the country? Also once back in the u.k, how long can we be back in the U.K before having to return to Spain. Thanks

Hi Pat,
There's no minimum amount of time you need to have been in Spain before you leave again. However, in order not to void your NLV, you are not allowed to leave Spain for more than 6 months per year, but also no more than 10 months in the first 5 years of "temporary" residency.
Kind regards,
Kim

I would follow the official guidance as set out by the Spanish Immigration authorities rather than depend on adhoc 'advice' from Forum members who and I may be wrong, may not be qualified in immigration matters.

The information I've given is neither "ad-hoc advice", nor incorrect:
https://www.ageinspain.org/post/non-lucrative-visa-nlv-guide
And it doesn’t contradict the requirement for a 'regreso' letter, if the NLV holder has yet to receive their TIE card.

All well and good but Age In Spain is not an official Spanish Immigration website and is dependent on their staff updating their information booklets on-time and in time. Therefore my reason for signposting queries such as this to official Government information websites.

Seriously, John? Then why did you include "Age in Spain" amongst a list of other sites that are not "official Spanish" tax websites?
Tax implications of selling a home in U.K. and buying in Spain in the same year.
Perhaps you should take your own advice before giving blatantly incorrect advice to members about their country of tax liability:
Quick (ever hopeful) tax question
I will leave it to others to draw conclusions about why you repeatedly jump on my posts with your unwarranted criticism.

There is nothing like personal experience when giving advice to others and that is what happens on this forum. I have asked questions on here and only ever received good, solid answers. Thank you to all those who give up their time to answer members' queries.

No need to get petty Kim just because your goal is to be Queen of the Forum. The links I provided in the examples you quote were for information purposes only and on most occasions I have recommended posters obtain expert advice. I really don't have time for your childishness. If you are an immigration lawyer qualified in Spanish immigration matters good for you and I wish you well.
