Hello Dennis

I have 2 suggestions for you re residencia application.1st  If you intend to do this yourself with help from  you might find some useful info here.......

Padron, residencia and passport advice

This was written by one of our members for people with old residencia cards/papers to exchange them for the TIE card - it will not all apply to you but....  you can  pick out what  bits of info you might need that could help with your application. You can read the link below, and see what a 'gestor' can help you with.

My 2nd suggestion is that you contact www.getlegalinspain.com. Uma & her team are brilliant, all speak English & even provide transport to & from the correct offices in Alicante ( 2 visits). They helped me with the exchanging process, in fact I did hardly anything & they did everything and the fee was €90  (other people shared the car journey). Many people on this forum have sought there help and will share my recommendation.

Hope this helps a bit..... Spanish bureaucracy is  still a nightmare when you've lived here  years so don't despair.

Cheers

Hi

That is brilliant advice, not too expensive and worth it if they take you there.  Much appreciated thankyou.

Hello

No,  I've lived here 18years and had residencia for about 15  years ( no rush back  then, no questions asked re finance etc. I did have private health insurance initially though

Good Luck with the next step...

Cheers

Elinspain.

Hi All

I hope that this is in the correct place as it relates the Non Lucrative Visa process

I went to the Spanish Embassy in Manchester today with all my documents as listed by Steve.  Steve has been a great help to me through this process.

On entering the Waiting area at the Consulate there were three other couples and two single people submitting their NLV applications.

Everyone of us had our cases put on hold because our Private Health Insurance cover did not cover Twelve Months from today!  It appears all the policies were dated from 1 November 2021 to 31 October 2022!

The staff accepted and stamped everyone’s paperwork and took the £1051.60 off us but put our cases on hold until we could provide a policy to cover the twelve months.

We took out our policy with ASSSA and I noticed a couple of others were also with them! I did give ASSSA our date for the interview but they assured me that it would be ok .. but obviously  NOT  .. !

I have been back onto ASSSA and the Broker I have used for the work is sending me a new certificate tomorrow extending the cover for two months!  Unfortunately this at an extra cost to us but without it .. we won’t get the Visa!!!  Our Broker did say they were reviewing the twelve month policy issue  as this is becoming a major problem with the Spanish Embassy ! Especially at Manchester!!

So please ensure that you get your policy to start from the date of your Appointment

I hope this will be of help to those of you who are in the process of applying for a NLV

I will update you when I get a reply back from the Embassy!

Hi there I was just wondering how you obtained the police certificate that’s required

Thanks and good luck

Go on your computer and put acro form on it and it will tell you all you need to know I think I paid about £65 for the criminal certificate then I had to send it to UK Offical Services in Birmingham to get it apostilled  which cost about £120.

Best of luck
