It seems the Spanish Government is about to confirm the following:

Waiting for Government announcement.

FROM Sunday April 26 children aged 14 and under in Spain can finally leave COVID-19 confinement for exercise.

Some 8.3 million youngsters, who will have been locked down for six weeks, will be eager to hit the streets for some fresh air.N

But what exactly are the country’s youngest citizens permitted to do outside? When and where can they do it? And who must accompany them?

This article answers those questions.

WHEN CAN CHILDREN GO OUT AND FOR HOW LONG?

From Sunday April 26, when the Ministry of Health order comes into force, children can start leaving the house to exercise. This is according to several Spanish newspapers (The Government had previously said April 27)

Children will be allowed out between 9am and 9pm

They will be allowed one hour of exercise per day

WHAT CHILDREN CAN AND CAN’T DO OUTSIDE

ALLOWED:

Scooters

Bikes

Balls

Running

Jumping

NOT ALLOWED:

Swimming

Playing on the swings

Playing with other children

WHERE CHILDREN CAN AND CAN’T GO

ALONE:

ALLOWED:

Beaches

Basketball and five-a-side courts if they are empty

Children must stay within 1km of the home

Communal areas of urbanizations (with agreement of the community)

Forests and countryside areas

NOT ALLOWED:

Public playgrounds and gardens remain closed

WHO CAN ACCOMPANY CHILDREN?

Adults, including parents and siblings

Adults can take a maximum of three children with them

Prams and pushchairs are also permitted

WHAT ABOUT MASKS?

The Government ‘recommends’ facial protection, but it is not obligatory

WHAT ABOUT OVER-14S?

Children aged 15 and older have the same rules applied to them as adults, being able to go out for ‘essential’ errands

This latest information has been confirmed by Spanish newspapers, including El Mundo.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

My thoughts exactly, but then again how many children live within a kilometre of a beach.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

It was reported on the Olive Press and in other newspaper articles including El Mundo.

I posted it as the Government apparently seem to be discussing a relaxing on the rules , particularly for children, and this is what the articles believe will be confirmed. There are a lot of details which are not clear but then we don’t have a full official report yet.

I was hoping to hear opinions on this.

What you have done is post from a time when some unreliable sources were speculating on what they thought would be allowed rather than wait for the Official release which has since been published in more reliable newspapers like EL PAÍS.

This was not an old news article, but talking about an announced decision for the Government review regarding the period 26/27 April. I knew it was a guess, did not say the Government had confirmed it at all, but could be thinking along these lines.

If you think it would be better to delete the post, I’m fine by that.

Apart from the mention of beaches you are pretty well spot on. However it doesn't bode well for this dozy government when with just one day to go there is still no coordination through the regions so what chance do we have of knowing what is and what isn't allowed. Take for instance the announcement, & it was announced, that children would only be able to go out with an adult to the supermarket or Farmacia.  Then blow me down two days later yet another change of plan. They need to sit down and plan properly for each and every phase and let us the public have regular updates as and when they will be phased in. I appreciate it is not an easy task but it's better than all this speculation that they are the cause of.

Also the N332 site keeps posting up to date information in English on their Facebook page.   The N332 site is run in conjunction with officers of the Guardia Civil for English speaking people.
