Hi. A very good friend of mine back in the UK has asked me for some advice to which I can’t answer. I’m hoping someone here can give me a fairly true figure and not what they think or what they have heard in the local bar. My friend finds herself in a situation of having received news that her Nephew has passed away in his apartment  in El Campello. They want to bring his body back to the UK, I know, I know. But that’s what they want to do. So my question and hers is, how much???. They have tried the British Consulate and are waiting for a call back. Does anyone know how much they could expect. Please only answer if you know. And please no smart answers about insurance, he didn’t have any !!!

Hello

My husband passed away in Feb 2015 and his mum wanted his body bringing back to England, we had no insurance at all and he was 57.  To cut a long story short, the medical center told us it would cost about 13000€ to repatriate him back.

It's not cheap.

The other alternative is this....

He didn't want a big funeral so I got the basic...coffin, no service, no flowers and no fancy car.  It was what he wanted and that cost me short of 4000€.  I had to go back to England to sort some things out and took some of his ashes back.  His family had a church service for him and he was put in a niche in the cemetery.

Hope this helps you.

Sue 😘
