Can anyone tell me what the situation is in Alicante Airport at the moment?

My friend is coming from the UK to Alicante on Saturday. He will have, if all goes well, wheelchair assistance and I am not sure where they will actually take him. Do they have a desk where I can go and meet him or would they take him directly outside the terminal building? If so, which floor would that be? Or can I go in and get him?

I do have copies of all paperwork including his boarding pass.

Thank you

Janice

There are special procedures for handicapped at all European airports. Usually, assitance at the airport of origin will alert airport of destintion for adequate assistance. As far as I know, at this time access to Alicante termional is permitted to passengers only. AENA operates an assistance service for the handicapped on the departure level at the utmost left entrace door. They should be informed about hyour case.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I know where you have to go for the Assistance on arrival at Alicante but had no idea where the incoming wheelchaired folk finish up!

Thanks again,

Janice

Thank you for your help. My friend arrived with no trouble whatsoever and the person who pushed the wheelchair said to him “where do you want me to take you to meet your friends?”. Perfect.
