I have approx 100ft of post and chainlink fencing which is all lieing flat on the ground, unsure of why, but keyholder has only just advised us(we,ve been in UK since Xmas) and he thinks snow?? has brought it down(inJanuary?) I need it replacing and can arrange job with keyholder and payment before we return in September. The fence is old and ins co.want 3 estimates but having difficulty getting workmen in my area- just outside Villena.

Anyone interrested?

Sorry I can't advise on tradesman for your job but the likely cause of the fence being down is that in December there was three days of non stop torrential rain and strong winds. During that time many trees were blown down and a large number of properties flooded so it seems likely that your fence was damaged at that time.

If your keyholder has only just discovered the problem then you may need to look at getting a new keyholder, particularly if it is a paid service, as anyone providing this service would be well aware of the problems last winter and the need for many non resident owners to get their properties repaired urgently and not eight months later.

I agree, but its not paid ,he is a neighbour (my only neighbour) and I would not want to offend by saying he should have noticed earlier. He inspects occassionly as I do have Securitas alarm monitoring and didnt realise fence was down before now. Unlike the coast with plenty of expats its not easy getting "friends" especially if not resident, or workmen in inland areas and this forum has been a godsend of information which wouldnt have been available locally.

Thanks Martin for replying but I have now finally got someone for the job as its been a month since I put it on here but are you a builder or a diyer as I may have other jobs in the future. We are coming over next week and it,ll be fixed then but I have had other work that I have had difficulty finding someone to undertake. Have you been in Las Virtudes long?
