Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a pool expert to give me some advice on running my pool in the Villena campo area. I’ve had a pool for the last 20 years in other countries but this year has been disastrous and I need expert advice.

Some of the recommended pool technicians will not come to my area for regular maintenance and/or cleaning.

Hi

Villena is too far from my home in Aspe, but with whatsapp, I could give you advices about pool maintenance and cleaning. With video whatapps, I could direct you toward the points I need to see. Do you know how to manage the pool pump ? The cleaning is easy, and in winter there is not so much to do for maintenance of water quality. And know a pool empty dammage the tiles and the tightness.

Hi Victor,

Thank you for answering my request. I am used to running pools but something is defeating me at the moment. I have had some alterations made to the pool so perhaps I haven’t yet adjusted my methods to suit them.

I will inbox you my WhatsApp number and perhaps we can arrange an appointment so that I can show you, or even explain to you, where my problem lies.

Thank you again for taking an interest.

Janice

Hi Janice

Try to get the kit to measure the level of chlorine, alkalinity and pH. It is preferable to use the kit made of strips which also measure the rate of active and passive chlorine, and alkalinity.

Thank you for your suggestions but I do have 20 years of experience in running a pool in Spain and other countries so I do know about Chlorine and pH testing and other general maintenance. This is a little more complicated and I hoped to find a local company or technician who could resolve my present difficulty and do the hard work for me as I am no longer as agile as I used to be!

Hi Janice,

Suggest you ask your neighbours or people in the same area who they use. Possibly even people in Caudete.

Cheers, Janice

Yes, Janice, I have done that. Some of my neighbours have smaller pools and most manage their own. Transformed water deposits are a nuisance when they are slightly wider than average and of course it makes a difference whether the pool is painted, tiled or fibreglass.

I have only found pool people who maintain on a regular basis who have less experience and are more expensive than the more professional experts along the coastal areas. I am hoping someone on the forum can recommend a good solution for me.

We changed to a salt system with auto acid dosing system 3 years ago made life much easier. Las virtudes. A tad expensive to install about €1,500 but well worth it.
