Protective car cover for long term airport carparking - is it worth it? - 9 replies

Dubiner92500 Posted by Dubiner92500 in General El Campello discussion on Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:19pm

Having finally imported my little car and having it finally on Spanish plates, we've set up a long term car parking facility near the airport.  I know that they do a complimentary car clean prior to picking the car up, but given the amount of sand etc which the car was in before I dropped it off (we live near the coast), I'm wondering whether its worth buying one of those protective covers to protect it a bit from the sand especially. The one I was looking at cost about 60 euros on line... any advice would be welcome!! I know the car isn't worth much as it's 13 years old but only 33K kilometres in it so hope we get a few more years out of it yet!!  thanks

Hi everyone. Just bought a small duplex in El Campello and was wondering if there was “a man with a van service” who could collect and deliver furniture e.g. kitchen table and chairs and small sofas and roughly what would the cost be? Thanks Rob

Foundations in Spain - 2 replies

CampelloDavid Posted by CampelloDavid in General El Campello discussion on Wed Nov 6, 2019 8:21pm

Hi, I am enquiring if anyone here has set up a Foundation in Spain? I have been tasked with finding out the process to start one up.  It will be a water based sport foundation in the public benefit and of course not for profit.  The other people involved are mainly Spanish and well connected in the sport concerned. My mother, who sadly passed away over a year ago, brought breast cancer survivor(BCS) dragon boat participation to Spain with the help of these people, this has progressed to 7 BCS Dragon boat teams in Spain and to a growing international tournament here in Spain now named as her memorial event. This year it has progressed to a new catogory, All Cancer Survivor(ACS) Dragon Boat Team launches - 3 teams already and counting. So the next step is to take this further into more community teams / catogories  and opening up what is a proven physically beneficial participation sport for these groups and the support network the team brings to all involved in each team both participants and supporters. We will be working with the Spanish Dragon Boat Fed so the sport side is covered. I want to give something back on behalf of my family to the Country working with the amazing Spanish people I have met and agreed to take on this task of finding out about not just the process but also the mechanics and any lessons learnt. Anyone who has set one up or experience of Foundations here in Spain on here it would be great to hear from you. kind Regards David

IVE BEEN AN IDIOT, CAN YOU HELP PLEASE - 18 replies

squibs Posted by squibs in General El Campello discussion on Thu Oct 31, 2019 9:37pm

Ok so finally out here only to find out I can only stay for 90 days.  I take it from all the info I have read that I need to get myself off to the local bobbies sharpish to register if I want to stay for the 5 months I have rented this apartment for.

Question: can I get help with this anywhere in El Campello as I don't have a printer to print these blasted forms out.

The other problem I now have is that I no longer want to drive my car back to the UK in December so will need temporary car insurance for 2 months,

Question: does anyone know of a car insurance that will insure a British car for 2 months.

I know ive been a little too caught up in the going to Spain excitement to do my homework before I left but lesson learned.  We hope to come across every year for approx. 5-6 months so if anyone has any suggestions im all ears.

Thanks in advance
