Hi Steve and Cheryl,

thank you for your reply, I have had many and now my head is spinning again.  How do you like your new home?  and did you buy a apartment or house, bungalow ect, these are things we are a little unsure about.  I chose la zenia, but my husband not to sure,we been up the coast and back down again.  Inland everywhere , so it would be great if you can let me know more about, as for propertys on the internet I am told that they are mostly sold, so another dilemma, if you know of some sites I should be looking at please let me know.

We have just completed on an apartment in Cabo Roig and used Pete at Comaskey. He has been tremendous from start to finish. Initially he took us to see a range of properties both resale and new build  to give us an idea of what we could get for our money. He never tried to sway us either way but we completely changed our minds about what we were looking for and opted for a new build. He then advised us all along the way and put us in contact with everybody we needed to complete the sale. Nothing was too much trouble. 

I moved here last October after 18 months of looking and going back and forth to UK.

It is different over here as agents are not like in UK and work for just their agency, they tend to work for them all.

The one I used in the end as I was being shown properties like apartments when they knew I had a dog and 2 cats! was Cost Villas.  Rachel Broadhead www.costavillas.net she had the most integrity and just showed me my dream home, after all the other people said I had to "compromise".  Well I didn't have to compromise as Rachel got me the exact property that I wanted.

Whilst writing, can I also ask where you are staying during your visit, as I have a guest room and private bathroom in my villa for holiday rentals and I can also answer any queries you may have on buying a property.  I may not be an expert but I have been through it, made a few mistakes and learnt the hard way but wiser now.

I looked for 18 months and did have a head spinning time. I changed to Rachel Broadhead of Costa Villas in the end as others did not listen to my requirements. She has excellent integrity and understands her clients needs. [email protected]

We used Homespania looked after us and even got hold of keys for properties not on their list picked us up from airport and returned us Gentleman called Wim showed us around did not pressure us and told us what was available regarding  pubs restaurants in the area .first class service always returned calls to us in U.K. If we had problems.

HI. I can highly recommend Gary Lewis from Complete Spanish Property. His service is fantastic. I also used another of the big Spanish Estate agents, and they were useless!. Gary collected us from the airport, showed us round different areas of the Costa Blanca, pointing out the pros and cons. He then showed us various different houses, and I am now a proud owner of my own place in the sun. But it didn't stop there. His after care is brilliant. He is always available to talk to or discuss any concerns. He arranged the fitting of my free sat, and has helped me in various different ways. (you will not get that with a big estate agent).

hope all is ok with you,we are fine and have now accepted an offer on our property, the solicitor says it should take about 4 weeks to complete.  We haven't found a property yet in spain, we was over the end of march for 1 week, spent most days in the car driving around looking at areas, trying to decide which areas we preferred.  I was wondering if your spare room is free, I haven't got an exact date yet,but think around the middle of may.  My e-mail address is [email protected] if it is free I look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately this has been sent to the wrong Jilly. I am on the Costa Blanca forum, as I have a property in La Marina, but I didn't post that message. However I can highly recommend Gary Lewis, from Complete Spanish Property. He is English, so no communication problems.Not only is he a fantastic Estate agent, but his after care services are beyond belief. He helped me though the boring bits, ie electric,  satellite Tv, and all the other mundane stuff. To this day, he still holds a key to my property, and if I am in England, he sorts out any issues that I have. You will NOT get that from any of the Estate Agents in Spain.
