advice on hrt

My wife went back to hot flushes and mood swings when her doctor decided she had to come off her hrt for no other reason that he thought she had been on them long enough.

We found an equivalent here in Spain and bought them over the counter and all was well again and my life got considerably calmer!!!!

I can't remember, but the UK version was called Clemmis or Clemis.  The pharmacy could look up an equivalent.  It was a few years ago.

You can go to Quirón Hospital in Torrevieja as a private patient.   My gynaecologist is Dr Coll, and he prescribes HRT for me once a year with a private prescription.  I'm 73, so similar age to your wife.

I make an appointment online on the Quirón Hospital app (download the app onto your phone) every year.   I pay privately for an annual mammogram and cervical smear, which is important to do if you're taking HRT.  Once your wife has been prescribed the correct HRT, you can buy it at the pharmacy.   There are probably other doctors at Quirón who will prescribe it, but I know for sure that Dr Coll does.  I do hope your wife makes an appointment swiftly, and that she gets the relief she needs.

By the way, if you have the name of the HRT which she was prescribed in your home country, you can do a Google search to see what it's called in Spain.  You can go to a pharmacy and see if they'll sell it to you over the counter, particularly if you have an old pack to show them.

I tried to make an appointment a couple of months ago with Dr Walter Coll and was told that he no longer works in Spain and has returned to live in South America.

Dr Walter Coll is showing as having available appointments from September onwards on the Quirón app.  Maybe he just went back to South America for a holiday 🤔
