Thank you for setting this up, horendous situation.  I was coming over from UK on 21st as I have sold my house and needed to clear it out, not furniture just personal stuff and had several viewing lined up.  The sale will go ahead on 3rd April so Im guessing it still wont be appropriate...

... to travel.  I have emailed the lawyer to explain so hopefully they will come up with something after they speak to the buyers lawyers. I hope you all stay safe

We are also in a tricky situation. Sold our UK home and came out to Spain 2 weeks ago to buy a property as cash buyers. Found a nice bungalow in Lo Marabu and paid our deposit before flying back to the holiday cottage we have rented for the next 2 months. Transferred all the remaining money to our Spanish bank, and 2 days later Spain is in lock down, so, unable to come over to complete. Now the UK are talking about restricting movement of over 70 year olds for 4 months which affects my wife, so not sure if we'd even get out of the country. We were intending to drive down with our dog. What a mess!!  Beginning to wish we'd never started.

Yes, if asked "for why"...... have a legal reason.

For eg: to quote on another post.

Are you okay to walk to the shops if you don't have a car in Villamartin?

It looks like I and several of my friends actually succumbed to the Coronavirus over Christmas and New Year without knowing what it was!

I am 75 , generally fit, vegetarian, with no underlying condition. ; my husband didn't get it.

Symptoms....dry cough, feeling like death warmed up .....fever, cotton wool head and eventual deafness. My teeth felt "loose" and gums bleed.

Treatment...paracetomol, ibufropen, Vick , and later ; Antihistomine for the sinus .

This lasted 2  months for me and I am only just getting my strength back. I hope this will help.

If you have any virus you should not take Ibuprofen.  Ibuprofen suppresses the immune system and should not be used if you have certain types of infections - strong viruses being one of them.

In your case it does sound like a flu, which is also a virus and therefore ibuprofen was not a good option and may well have made your condition worse or extended the time you were ill.  Medical advice for viruses is to take paracetamol for the fever and ride out everything else.  Warm baths can help aches and pains, decongestants to help stuffiness - use recognised cold and flu helps such as Lemsips or Beechams (do not take additional paracetamol as both already contain it), antihistamines if appropriate.

Covid 19 advice is paracetomol NOT Ibbuprofen.

Agree (partly Davebev1) but:

" Can ibuprofen be taken if one has symptoms of coronavirus? Is paracetamol better? Given the doubt that arose as a result of a comment by the French Minister of Health, the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (Aemps) has had to release a statement in which it assures that there is currently no information that would allow the worsening of the infection to be confirmed. by COVID-19 with ibuprofen or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so there is no reason for patients who are on chronic treatment to stop consuming it. Sanidad recalls that the guidelines recommend the use of paracetamol for the symptomatic treatment of fever as the first alternative, but does not contraindicate the use of ibuprofen to lower fever or relieve pain. (JOSÉ ANTONIO GUERRERO Madrid Monday, March 16, 2020, 11:07). with respect.

My information came direct from the medical profession.  A friend recovering from covid 19 was told to not use it as well.  The drug is known to aggravate in several viral conditions and therefore the general advice given is not to use if you have a virus.  Covid 19 is a new virus and therefore no one can know for sure, so the general advice from UK medical staff is to not use it.   (As an example, in the event of Chickenpox the use of Ibuprofen is known to have very serious effects.)  We all need to protect our immune systems at this time, it is accepted that ibuprofen reduces the immune systems effectiveness in the short term.  So the doctors are probably being cautious in their advice to not take Ibuprofen for covid 19, but they are right to take the safer road while the science is still unsure and needs clarifying (which could take months).  I would rather stick to the medical advice until scientific studies show that to be wrong.

This may, (or may not!) be helpful to people in making that choice https://www.sciencemediacentre.org/expert-reaction-to-reports-that-the-french-health-minister-recommended-use-of-paracetamol-for-fever-from-covid-19-rather-than-ibuprofen-or-cortisone/

Agree as I agree with my father a pharmacist & therefore conclude, Yes.

as you say, "I would rather stick to the medical advice until scientific studies show that to be wrong."
