Cath, that's one of the reasons why I write my guides - there is so much incorrect information on the internet.

Bottom line:

Stay more than three months and you must have residency.

Stay less than six months and you must not register on the padrón.

Well I knew you had written informative answers on many subjects but when compiled in one place, it’s most impressive - and helpful - so thank you both

Jim your time, effort and help is so valuable!!  Please update after Brexit should any changes be made.  We rely on your knowledge and understanding of the law!

That's what I hope to do, and it's also why I did posts like the best and worse case scenarios - so that I'd have base documents that I will hopefully be able to modify as required, to save time, rather than having to start from scratch.

Jim, Deal or No Deal, Brexit or No Brexit, then the Transition Period, there should be enough to keep you busy for years to come.

And I've still got a lot of topics I haven't covered yet. Anyone else fancy having a go?

brilliant guides and well worth a visit every now and again , just to keep you pointed in the right direction.

Our move to Spain wouldn't have been as easy as it was without the forum in general but especially Jims guides.
