Oh god, not this again...

"I paid taxes there for 20 yrs and now I'm a pensioner so no don't want to pay taxes only those related to purchase etc"

Saying you don't want to pay *any* tax falls clearly in the "evasion" camp, not "avoidance."

With respect. ( "Oh god etc......:") Why are you sending this to me. ( I have always avoided my taxes) V

You sound like my brother in law , are you a tax inspector or ex tax inspector by any chance ?
ps I noticed on another thread you brought a kitchen into Spain from England , that’s kinda avoiding tax or at least avoiding putting money into the Spanish economy 🤷‍♂️

😂

FFS...there's a word for people like you.

Stan,

I think if you go back to posts 2 and 3 at the beginning of this thread you will see how the comment about not paying tax in Spain came about. It was nothing to do with avoiding Spanish taxes, only the OP did not want to stay in Spain for longer than 183 days as that would mean paying Spanish tax on income, etc. I don't see her saying that she is intending to avoid any taxes that are due as a non-resident property owner.

Rgds,

You are literally stating that you don't want to pay any tax & are asking if anyone knows a way to facilitate this.

That is the very definition of tax-dodging.

Stupid I was asking if people think 90 day rule will change and my original question had nothing to do with taxes

I am educated and aware of taxes to be paid by having a second home in Spain

This forum with negative people is of no help to new comers onto it thankfully I have owned property in Spain for 20ys previously so shove your negative replies in a place the sun never shines

13,000 signatures in 20 weeks.

Only 87,000 required in the next 6 weeks!

No idea if you're on Twitter or not but there's a fairly constant stream of uber-Remainer accounts pushing petitions like this.

For the avoidance of doubt, Brexit was a shit idea.

It was a con pushed by wealthy vested-interest types designed to get thick racists to vote against their own self-interest so that they (the dodgy rich people) wouldn't have to divulge where all their offshore money was & start paying tax on it.

And the thick racists duly obliged.

So we're all a bit screwed now.

However...none of these pointless petitions are going to change anything. (As you clearly know already.)

All they do is give false hope to desperate, poorly politically informed people & instill the false sense that they're actually doing something meaningful.

Armchair protest nonsense which the Tories just laugh at.

To anyone reading this who still lives in the UK & wants a closer relationship with the EU, my advice is vote for whichever candidate in your ward stands the best chance of defeating the Tory candidate.

It's *that* simple.

This is possibly old news and is related to the initial posts. The news comes as a blow to the roughly 86,000 British people who own a second home in France.

A new law which would have allowed British second-home owners an automatic long-stay visa has been rejected by a French court for being “unconstitutional”.

The amendment to an immigration bill would have let British expats with a second home or holiday home in France stay for more than 90 days without needing a visa.

It had already passed through the two houses of the Senate but was rejected for being unconstitutional and having no direct or indirect link to the immigration bill.

The decision to reject the amendment is final as there are no appeals in France’s Constitutional Court.

The article below from The Connexion outlines the reasons and the possible next steps to reintroduce the visa proposal. The Court ruled it was unconsitutional to link the visa proposal to the immigration bill, not that the visa proposal itself was against any part of the French constitution. So it may resurface again.

Don't bank on it happening anytine soon though!
