I'm going to change my Residencia for a TIE. Can anyone who's done that tell me how long it took them to secure an appointment at Alicante?

Do you file the application online then wait to be called? If that's correct typically how long did you wait?

Just follow the instructions in tips and guides. It's very straightforward

When we changed our residence cards to TIE we used the services of Round Town Travel. They filled in all the necessary forms and paperwork, sorted out the appointments (which were within a couple of days), took us in their car to the correct office in Alicante to have our finger prints taken. Two weeks later they took us to Alicante again to collect the TIE cards. All done very smoothly and easily for €100 each.

We used currencies4you in pinoso. Although it cost €140 for the two of us we got an appointment for this coming monday having only been to the office last Tuesday. They do all the work for you and take you for your appointment. They check tie appointments daily and grab them.

That's what we did for us and did it for our friends. Saved them loads of money.

Hi Steve,

When I did mine, in September 2019, it was easy to get an appointment, but when I did my friends', in October 2020, it took weeks to secure an appointment online.  The view at the time was that the offices release new appointments on a Sunday and whether it was coincidental, I managed to book a couple of appointments on a Sunday afternoon for the following week.  I've just tried booking an appointment at the Denia office and, predictably, it says there are currently no appointments available, so perhaps you could try tomorrow?

I do hope the Foreigners' offices aren't allowing lawyers and gestors to block book appointment times again - I'm seeing a friend on Tuesday, who's a gestor, so I'll ask him.

Kind regards,

Kim

Thanks Kimmy, that was the helpful answer I had hoped for 👍⭐
