Please give this person a break. By now, they understand what you are telling them. In due course, when everything is back to normal, they can do the right thing.

My only advice is this.   Stay safe, follow the guidelines of self quarantine and when this killer has passed and gone, you can continue living in Spain legally, happy and healthy. Good luck. Stop worrying. This is not normal times. ...

Hola,

I don’t think people begin to understand the panic you are feeling. On one hand you just want to live your dream and suddenly everything has gone mad and you are at a loss as to what to do.  If you can manage to live in your apartment happily and safely and manage to get food and medicine when needed then stay where you are.

I would like to think that you will be safe just as long as you haven’t been in contact with any infected person. It’s been a week since the lockdown in Spain so I imagine you will be ok.

Relax on your balcony and make the best of your situation.

Stop worrying. Worry never helped anyone. Read books, watch your tv and look after yourselves. If either of you are taking medication, photograph the packets/ bottles incase you need to get more in Spain. If you can show the pharmacist what your doctor at home has prescribed for you, they will happily sell you the same same medication.

Good luck.

I wish you well.

Grannyrose.

Surly that is “old news”

The country is in Lockdown so it stands to reason that hotels / apartments will not be in demand.

Wednesday is old news..  time does go by faster as you grow older I have heard..

Campsites are closing their communal bathrooms and toilets, most hotels do not have cooking facilities in the rooms and those that have restaurants - these have been closed since last Friday at midnight but the hotels open. No hot meals.. Hotels might also be used as treatment centers for non life-threatening virus carriers such as in Madrid right now..

The date for closing is the 24th.. expect the airports to close on this date or soon after as every tourist should have made their way back home by then.

Also expect another 14-15 day extension to the lockdown..

No, you do not have to leave, but it is important to get your residency. When you are British you must ask these in Alicante. Because off the Brexit there are other rules and only there they can help you. You need also an S1 form for the healthcare. Without that document you can not do anything.

Normally i make appointments for mine clients but for British people it is different now.

I have been told by my legal advisor that all public offices are closed at this present time and have to wait until they reopen to make a appointment for residency.

Hi Anna,

UK citizens only qualify for an S1 if they are State Pension age or in receipt of another exportable benefit, such as Disability Living Allowance.

Marianto hasn't said whether he's pensionable age.  If he isn't, and if he isn't working and contributing to the Spanish system, he will need private health insurance for at least the first year to obtain residency.  After 1 year, he will then have the option to switch from PHI to the Convenio Especial, until such time as he qualifies for an S1.

Kind regards,

Kim
