Not sure you will find many on here that voted for Brexit, PS, well said tebo53.

Really! There are plenty where I live.

And a few that have gone back into the cupboard so to speak.

Hello

Although this rule has been in place since January2021, I'm surprised to see that some people are just catching up.

If you use this forum regularly , you can stay right up to date with all relevant , government & bureaucratic  news relating  to UK & Spain.

Cheers

Hi AJ,

The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020 and even though the EU granted the UK a transition extension until 31 December 2020, UK citizens have had almost 16 months to come to terms with the Third Country rules that the Brexiteers gifted to us.  I understand your frustration and you'll find many Remainers on here that agree with you about the stupidity of Brexit, but few, if any, who will blame Spain for something the UK did to itself.

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi

I own a property in the Alicante region. I’m now told although I’m good enough to pay my bills in Spain on my property I’m only allowed to come and visit it for 90 days in a 180 period!

I didn’t vote for brexit and even if I did this situation is outrageous .

If Spain wants to standby these ridiculous rules then so be it our place will be on the market.!

I’ll keep our hard earned money in the U.K. and stay at home x

Not Spain’s problem or fault. As I always say thank anyone you know that voted for brexit.Enjoy your time where ever you end up and no doubt the new buyer will enjoy the property.Something else to thank brexiters for is as a 3rd country national you will be liable for higher taxes when you sell.It really is the gift that keeps giving.

You'd be amazed at the number of people already living in Spain who voted leave, I know at least half a dozen.

What their motivation was who knows as there was no possible advantage in it for them, all it achieved was the stuffing of others.

IMO anyone who enjoyed living in the  EU but still voted leave should have been given their marching orders!

The OP must have been existing in a vacuum if he's only just found out about the 90 day rule!

They voted to leave the EU as do not want unelected members of eu telling them what to do, instead they have an elected government that tells them what to do and breaks the law.

I think give it a year or so and Spain will relax this to 180 and 90. Well let’s hope so

No chance, Rusty. It's an EU regulation, not a Spanish one. And Spain aren't about to leave the EU...........

Sadly that’s a EU regulation not Spain’s . One of the many many down sides to leaving the EU. However many people have been living In spain for years without residenicia  to avoid tax etc then rushed  at last minute to get it !!
