It would also be illegal with heavy fines or imprisonment if you did not tell the UK that you were in Spain
But you fly to Gibraltar, how is the UK government going to know that you crossed the border?

Someone asked about you awhile back because you had been quiet and someone replied saying you had moved to jims guides. Anyways the borders of Gibraltar would surely be easier than all the travel requirements that are stopping people leaving the UK or atleast going there for a holiday would be an...

... idea. I have have friends down there and they were saying that they never get stopped at the border and its rare that anyone ever does (maybe because of covid i don't know), same as crossing country borders we've travelled across 3 European borders and werent stopped but thats a different story
Martyn1986 Thanks for enquiring. I´m always quiet!
Yes regarding (some) problems, ie my above video cam showing 2 minute travel for passengers today, compared with the news reports of 4 days ago of long queues of over 2 hours. Friends of mine involved in the travel & tourist industry explained the often, changeable situation. You are probably correct in assuming the covid-19 situation may exacerbate the situation together with the political long-standing volatility.
Take care.

Tbh though I'm not believing tge Media atm because whats in the news and whats true are very different e.g just a few days ago (also for the past month or so) Heathrow Airport has been over crowed with hours long queues my mate sent me a video both going and returning, completely empty. Although we can't rule that out as coincidence, with my question about Gibraltar not many people really keep up with the news about it, myself included, most people talk about Spain or France or other parts of Europe, thats why I asked if it would be worthwhile trying to enter and leave Spain that way. But its still on the green list and a beautiful place so people should just travel there for a holiday lol

If the quarantine period in the UK isn't much of a problem to comply with the total cost of the three necessary tests to return is now down to about £120. With flights and car rental still very cheap I really don't know why more people aren't travelling on direct flights to and from Alicante. If you can stay in Spain for a long time the tests may become cheaper still or may not be required by the time you return.

The media coverage has been wildly distorted throughout this catastrophe. They like a sensational story that people will watch or read and unfortunately people then think that's normal and is happening everywhere. This applies to just about everything that's been going on right from the start.
It took 20 minutes to get through immigration at Bristol a few days ago. The only complaint I had was that they didn't give priority to a couple with three children under 4 who were the last to be processed.

What about the guy with the blue hat and 3 bags? Should not he get priority?

You don't think a mother carrying a ten month old child in a sling with two other small children to take care of should be given priority in a long queue after a two hour flight and walking a long way through the airport ? Shame on you if you don't.

Wouldn't your passport be stamped? Or does that not happen on that border.
