If the quarantine period in the UK isn't much of a problem to comply with the total cost of the three necessary tests to return is now down to about £120. With flights and car rental still very cheap I really don't know why more people aren't travelling on direct flights to and from Alican...

...te. If you can stay in Spain for a long time the tests may become cheaper still or may not be required by the time you return.
I am going back to England next week, where did you find 3 tests for £120?????

But how many people know that?
I would believe everyone knows there is a border between Gibraltar and Spain and always has been even before Brexit.
If you fly into Gib and then travel on into Spain you would have your passport stamped and I imagine you would have to have a locator form. If you are going to sneak into Spain for your hols I’d think again because if your return flights from Gib and you are staying for longer than 7 days you have to have a covid test after the 5th day. The reason I know this is I travelled from Torrevieja and stayed in La Linea crossed the border sometimes twice a day to meet friends who had travelled from the Uk and were staying in Gib, I had to show my passport and TIE to the Guardia so your idea is not a good one.

Thanks Martyn1986, I didn´t know I´d gone?
The reason I posted it was in reference to the ongoing discussions on forums & in recent media reports regarding the frontier & border Gibraltar disputes.

I’ve just had a week down in La linea beginning of June crossed the border twice in each direction on a daily basis didn’t have any problems unless planes were landing.

Antigen test in Spain, almost anywhere, 40 euros. Day 2 and Day 8 test kit with Easyjet or Ryanair discount is £86 per person for the two tests with Randox (or at least it was last week - it was £120 when I bought mine a few days earlier).

You don't think a mother carrying a ten month old child in a sling with two other small children to take care of should be given priority in a long queue after a two hour flight and walking a long way through the airport ? Shame on you if you don't.
well in these days of equality, men winning ladies weight lifting, feral kids pushing fishing pensioners in the river, dodgy men in same toilets as young girls, every tv advert with mixed race couples, tearing down statues, denigrating former heroes, reality shows where i believe lots of dry humping does on, kids bakeoff on ice, the nobs jetting round the world to tell us not to jet round the world, Labour voters will be spinning in their graves...everything is changing...is everybody happy?

So what I said was true then. So it is possible to fly there and cross the border without any issue if you drove?

No you need to read my previous post on the subject, I have residencia and Gib to Spain is Green and Spain to Gib is green but you are flying from the Uk which is green to Gib but Amber to Spain so you couldn’t do it your passport would be stamped showing you had entered Spain, like someone has said fly into Alicante a lot easier

Perhaps because there is border control between Gibraltar and Spain.
Steve
We flew to Portugal for one weeks holiday, then caught a bus to Seville,
Then caught a train to Alicante then hired a car to La Marina,
Mind you it took us 26 hours with no sleep ?
But did not go through any border controls ?
We did tell Tui that we were not catching the plane back to the Uk
So I’m sure it would be much easier from Gibraltar I presume ?
