He's not tried mushy peas though, but, there again, I've not tried pangolin or bat soup. ( I didn't ask. Thought it was best not.😇) V

Mushy peas, originate in the north of England, they are not mushy through grandmas trending in them in the bath, they are marrowfat peas, steeped overnight in bicarbonate of soda then stirred in the liquor, all these mushy peas you buy in the shop don’t resemble the original home cooked ones at all. Served with vinegar fresh cod and crispy chips, I’m sure if he tries the correct peas he will love them , we do up here in the north😁

Just wanted to ask if it's allowed on this forum to name and shame people /businesses .. Advertising, for example food on restaurant windows and walls at certain prices and then receive the bill at double the price... Or selling "draft beer" in cans!! Yes, English establishment with the classic S...

...panish excuse, "sorry, I didn't understand" although we speak the same language!

Absolutely disgusting and maybe it's time to expose these people.

Depends who you are. I named and shamed a company last year with complete details and testimony to back it up. It was taken down in about 24 hours. Then later that year I saw another post naming and shaming but without evidence just contradictory opinions. I asked why this flimsy later post was allowed and mine not. No satisfactory response. The company I named has recently appeared on 'named & shamed' by someone else.

Your comment is offensive - I’m assuming you are referring to a local Chinese restaurant and if so why not say that.

Hi yes I agree with the name and shaming. As I don't use this forum as much as I used to as I find some people  are very negative especially  when new expats are coming over to try and  start  new lifes in spain. Also recently I saw a job on this forum and the person did not give me the correct email address so it was no help!

But not everyone has a positive  approach  to life....

Battered fish, mushy peas and chips, (not "frozen",) advertise with lovely picture @€4.95, on a black board.

But, we had our doubts so ordered large fish, mushy peas and chips from the menu at a higher price but that's fine, no problem..

We ask the gentleman, who is English, if they serve draft beer and were told that only 1 beer, German to be exact, is from draft.. So we ordered 1 and 1 glass of white wine..

We'll, it turned out to be a can of estrella @€1,75..  They actually took the draft beer out, according to the lady sjef (owner?) The English speaking waiter did not understand me after telling us  at least 3 times that the beer is from draft but its a German beer.. The lady (owner?) told us he should never have said this and it will be charged at half the price! Off course I object and offer to pay the full price for it because they obviously need to make money...

Mushy peas charged at an extra @€1,50per portion, I thought was included in the price, to go with the cod @€10.95per portion.. Small glass of house white wine @€1,90..

My problem is, How can they advertise at €4,95 with misleading photos, and when customers ask for this then it's all excuses... As it turned out a table close to us wanted to order the €4,95 menu but was told its not available I think...

I told this lady, who also told us she can't please all her customers, that I think they con people, sadly.

Ray's chippie, you certainly will not have us back as customers!

i can confirm this.having lived in benidorm for 20 years. rays chippe has gone down hill tenfold.the food was absolutly terrible, pies was heated in the microwave until as hard as a brick chips was greasy.the fish and chips in rays used to be one of the best in benidorm for years.now i would say it is one of the worst ,it wasnt just a once off because i went again and the food was the same although the service was excellent

Duh - clearly it’s me who is offended by your use of the racist term. I’m not posting on behalf of a colleague or my neighbour.

I’m new to the forum so thank you for the tip on how to report inappropriate content.

Hi narochev, and welcome to the Forum. What a shame your first two posts have had to be about such a situation.

Not too sure why this one has ended up on the Benidorm section of the Forum ,but can see you have also put a similar one up on the Torrevieja  Forum.

Those images posted do not portray a scene of a recently, efficiently cleaned house.

It would be interesting to hear feedback,  either from the Company, itself or from any other Memnber of the forum who have dealt with the named company.
