I thought that I would avoid the cliche Spanish greeting, as I'm sure that it has already been done once or twice.

I am currently in Alicante, moving to Benidorm tomorrow, to take a better look around. My intention is to move over here, but have given myself a bit of time to plan things.

I have lived on and off in Europe (well for 3 to 4 months at a time, with work) and do somewhat prefer the European way. Also, I am no longer a spring chicken so suffer with the British winters (I'm heading back on Saturday to 7-9 deg C!).

I have read a few forums, which have mostly been very dated and incorrect - even by my limited knowledge. So, having been recommended this one by a very good and trusted friend I look forward to hopefully gaining some good advice.

Keep well everyone and look forward to chatting with you.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the forum. There are several of us posters on here from Benidorm and local areas so ask away if you have questions or require information.

Steve

Thanks Steve. I have already found the forum most insightful. It is early days and I have already engaged the assistance of a local Fixer to provide basic info.

I am over here for the week, following one in December. I previously got prevented by Schengen, following an extended stay in Greece with work (even the border force were confused when I presented them with two concurrent Visas).

I will certainly have lots of questions. If you are in Benidorm, it would be great to repay your wisdom/ experience with some hospitality.

I wish you good luck with your plans however I'm curious as to which "very dated and incorrect" forums you are referring to?

I think I know most of them and would only describe one in those terms, that being Angloinfo.

Hi, I am also coming to Benidorm in the next few weeks. I have posted on a few forums but still looking to find anyone/group who are into rock and roll jive dancing and where I can find face to face Spanish language tuition. Thanks John

Hi Darro, It's across the board, including general websites abut the place.
