Personally i would have a few people walk about the town with high end watches on that are bugged, or have the people with the watches watched. It would be a matter of time until a mugger moves in and then bang, gotcha....

..., they must be very selective. Wouldn’t attack a 6 foot tall, fit looking  heavyweight, with the possibility he bought his watch from the lucky lucky man and worth twenty Euros. They must have had some previous close interaction with the intended victims, so they know for sure that they are on a winner. The bottom line is don’t wear valuable jewellery or even imitations of such, you are just inviting trouble. I have seen so many folks with fake gold chains, necklaces, watches etc. It’s just like carrying a huge sign, saying mug me!. Not condoning this in any way, absolutely not, but sometimes the victims could do with a bit of common sense.
