Woke is a term used to insult people who are socially aware, usually used by people who don't agree with accepted new norms on equality etc

Snowflake is used as an insult hurled back if you object to people who don't believe in equality.

Thank you for reminding us all to be careful - it is a sad state of affairs that we are being advised not to wear anything which even looks valuable, items that have. been bought with hard earned money.

We live in a residential area and on arriving home the other day, a very observant neighbour of ours came across to tell us that an Irish man and his young son (I assume our neighbour heard them speaking to each other) stopped in a white van outside our house and the man lifted the boy over our gate (which is alway kept locked).  Our neighbour came across and asked what he was doing, at which the man replied that the boy had lost his ball into our garden, and that he had permission from us to enter !  This of course was untrue, our neighbour said ‘I don’t think so ! at which the two of them got back in the van and left.  We know that none of our neighbours have any children staying with them at the moment and the incident has rather unsettled me !  so a quick reminder to everyone to lock doors, gates, windows, grills etc when going out !  not wearing any watches, rings, necklaces etccc☺️

It's good that you have neighbours that not only take an interest but are prepared to challenge anyone they are suspicious of. 

We could all take a lesson from this. 

Yes we were very grateful, we all need our wits about us,not only here in Spain but where ever we are in this day and age.  

Same thing happening in Villamartin. 

I don't understand why the police don't do more. It's the same thing every year. They know they're there, why not set up a few unmarked cars on patrol, or even random on duty plain clothes on the beat?

Personally i would have a few people walk about the town with high end watches on that are bugged, or have the people with the watches watched. It would be a matter of time until a mugger moves in and then bang, gotcha.

Yes - a small tracking device in the back of a watch would be a great idea

Just for your info what you say about these Romanian muggers is very true as I had been a victim a while ago, while I was walking on a pavement near La Marina Oasis a fat short woman approached me and suddenly she hugged me and within 30 seconds she let go, I was so surprised and unprepared that I quickly crossed the road and went away 

It was only after that I realized she had stolen my very sentimental and high value gold chain and pendant but it was too late she had disappeared just as fast as she appeared 

So please do not allow anyone you don’t know to suddenly hug you 

James Bond had one in every watch, in every film, and he never got mugged, Great idea..!

As I initially said, and similar sentiments have been expressed in later posts from others.  Just use some Common Sense, unfortunately this sort of thing happens everywhere. So far the post must be leading up to a joke !  An Irish man and his young son, two Romanian gypsies and a fat short woman walk into a pub, The short fat woman suddenly hugs the bar man? All we need is the English man and the Scotsman !, Sometimes we can be our worst enemies, that’s where common sense comes into play.
