Thank you for your reply but I have been warned about the Leroy Merlin " Red Squirrel" pellets which will clog up the burner

As you wish.

I and my neighbour used them all last winter without any issues.

You could go to Haas Sohn in Teulada, not very far from Benitachell, in the Main Street on the opposite side of the road as you come from Benitachell.

We bought some today, they are currently 8 per bag,, but will doubtless increase when this stock sold out. Carrefour about 7.50. Jujuju allegedly 11 Eu.

The cost is going up astronomically.

I used Leroy's Squirrel pellets all last season and did not have an iota of trouble.

Where exactly are you experiencing the clogging?

Found this place online, you could try talking to them as their prices are very reasonable.

Haven't used them as I'm still trying to work out if it would be worth buying a pellet burner for the winter season.

I have had one season with a pellet burner and it was not as efficient as I was lead to believe.  It got through huge volumes of pellets..

As far as pellets go I took the recommendations of other users who had had stoves for a while.  The Squirrel ones from Leroy's seemed to be the one of choice mainly because it made less ash so needed less cleaning out.

It doesn't seem to pay to buy cheap ones as they are not efficient as they contain stuff left over from furniture factories etc..  Moisture content it also important so they need to be kept very dry at all times.

Convenience, cleanliness and controlability are, in my opinion, the main advantages of pellets over wood.

I don't think that economy was a great feature last year and it certainly isn't now.
