Thank you all for your advice. I cancelled the 2 £85 tests I had booked in Boots, then had a heart attack when I read this thread!!! I feel confident  in the advice given about not having to take a test to fly into Spain..... and will update when we arrive 🤗

Thanks again

Sensible. I was hoping Spain would go green whilst here but no luck - but things can change so leave return tests until closer to your return. I return on Thurs and have just booked pre-flight antigen for Tuesday (€40) and days 2, 8 and 5 with Randox (£129)

You're lucky, we can't test to release here in Scotland and day 2 and day 8 tests are £170!! Must be booked through Scottish government portal and only one company can be used😭

We just flew in to Alicante from Bristol airport yesterday. We did not need a covid test. We only needed to show our QR code that you receive from filling out the Health Control Form.

Cheers

Thanks again

We have booked with Dam Health to fly back and with Brunswick Hygiene at the cost of £358 for 2 of us day 2 & 8 and day 5 release through the government website. The reviews were not good but Randox didn’t have any stock of the 3 day package, thus why we have already booked didn’t want to get caught out. There were a lot of bad reviews for companies offering this service. The government should monitor more carefully it’s such a rip off, however following the hypocrisy of Matt Hancock nothing was keeping us any longer from visiting our place in Spain as a double jabbed travellers 😉

This is my dilemma

We fly to Spain next Sunday for 10 days and was considering doing exactly what you have done.

A doubt has been thrown into my mind, yesterday I was looking at the test providers, Dante had sold out of the day 2 & 8 tests, wouldn't want that to happen if we left it until as late as possible? ( Dante have restocked )

I can see why you did this as there was a travel review scheduled whilst you were in Spain, I don't think there is another one before our return date on the 14th July ?

The only other advantage that I can think of is if being double vaccinated is introduced as a reason not to quarantine during our stay but all the guesstimates seem to say August.

Enjoy the rest of your stay Portet.

Edit, Nikkil and myself were writing and posting at the same time, sorry for any confusion.

Thanks Portet

We also were hoping for a review, but it does look like August. If baffles me  how unvaccinated 18-30’s can go to Ibiza ... the age group that are spreading it in the Uk! It is a worry that it’s a risk to Spain  and we will again be stopped from travelling by our government later in the year if their rates go up.

Yes, stock was not an issue for me but might be a concern now - particularly if there is no stock or you are forced to select a provider with poor reviews.

Sanchez has announced this morning. That a negative pcr test result or a vaccination certificate will be required to enter Spain. This takes effect in 72 hours. These requirements run alongside the qr Spanish health form.
