They’re now saying he will resign in six months, when it suits him 😂😂😂😂

Rob, that would be a day to commemorate .

He would then have all the time in the world to drive around the country and to test his eyesight. 🤣😃🤣😃🤣

"even the Shadow Attorney General says Cummings broke the law" - now there's a surprise :)

If the police haven't done anything about this there isn't much going on.

The sanction for this offence is only a small fine anyway.

I think people are a bit annoyed that such a powerful figure would appear to flaunt the rules, then when found out and challenged, instead of putting his hand up and saying sorry, came up with a cock and bull story that contradicts what his wife had published in the press earlier.

For the record, in my opinion, all the MPs or senior public figures who have been caught should have been fined and should have issued apologies. A second offence should mean dismissal.

At the moment it looks like certain top people can have a free for all while us plebs obey the rules and many folk have missed saying good bye to their loved ones.

Pete.

I am in little doubt that Cummings will have got plenty of dirt on BoJo (and likely others) and that's why he's too yellow to sack the odious little git.

Jeff, you have hit the nail on the head, even the Shadow Attorney General says Cummings broke the law and should be facing prosecution. He also stated Boris Johnson constitutionally should not have given opinion on a matter that was being dealt with by The Police.

All I can say is Cummings better stay absolutely squeaky clean in every single thing he does in future or things will come down on him like a Ton of  bricks....

...

I wouldn't like to have that possibility hanging over me. I hope he has plenty of restless nights to come.

Not defending him in any way but what “ law “ has he broken? He has broken the rules a set of requests put down by the government for people to adhere to, so unless I missed the parliament session where the law was debated on and voted through then technino law has been broken.

17 000 fines have been issued by Police in relation to Coronavirus restrictions on travel and on social distancing. Therefore there is legislation in place for sure.

The Coronavirus Act 2020 is an act of parliament and is law, to enable the act to have legislative teeth it has been associated with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. Therefore, it is law and any breach of this law can be deemed as criminal action.

The issue of whether Cummings has breached the law can at first be determined by the police who are tasked to implement the law, however with the governments fear of being accused of overreacting they have restricted the police from coming down hard.

As it stands any breach of restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus Act 2020 is a breach of this act and can result in a criminal conviction along with any determined punishment set by the government.

Unless your best mate is Bojo the clown.

Thanks Jeff.

That appears to suggest The Prime Ministers Office now see themselves as 'above The Law '
