The basic taxes will be your annual IBI or Suma (equivalent of UK Council Tax but much, much lower) based on the property's cadastral value and your annual non-residents tax. Then there are your annual costs that are not taxes such as your community fees and utility bills. Depending on where your property is located you will probably also pay a small separate fee for your rubbish collections. (This is presuming you are not renting out your property in any way, which would change the situation.)

Your bank statement should say who or what the money was paid to. It could be a variety of things. Are all your bills set up as direct debits?

You will also have to pay Tax on any income received if you rent your property out when you are not using it, provided of course that you will have obtained a Tourist License.
As far as I am aware you do not need a tourist licence if you rent long term.

That is correct, the Licence is required for Holiday Lets and a Quarterly Tax Return is required, for Long Term Rentals no Licence is needed and the Income is declared on your Annual Tax Return.

I don't rent my place out,so avoided that one, which should leave me
with council tax and non resident tax ??
Hi Colin, I know you are referring to taxes placed on your property but if you own a Spanish car then dont forget your Car Tax. 😀.
