Hi

I have just received notice that 2 direct debits will be taken from my bank account at the beginning of May.  One is for 50 euros for ITV which is absolutely and expected (annual road tax). However, I don't recognise the other one, and in particular the amount which looks like some of sort non-residents tax i.e. "RESIDU - AYUNT ORIHUELA" for 34.80 euros.  If it is non-resident tax related it seems a rather low amount.  Does anyone have any idea what it is for?

regards

Brian

Hi Gez

Many thanks for the reply, is this a new tax then?  Previously we have paid our Council tax in September.

regards

Brian

Hi Gez - very interesting as we have had our house for just over 7 years now and never had a bill for that amount at this time of the year :-)

I assumed that type of thing would have been included in our council tax bill. Oh well, looks like they've finally caught up with us.  Thanks for the reply.

I pay suma in April and October for refuse collection(bins) and then as you call it council tax separately in October as well. ITV is you MOT equivalent and you pay it when you take your car to get checked. Your car road tax is paid separately to Suma as well.

We have always paid May with our car tax and think October with your house tax. Two separate payments,

Previously your water bill included a charge for waste collectionThis is now being collected by Suma every 6 months starting in May. Our quarterly  January water bill was lower than normal as the charge wasnt taken. I assume that yours would have been lower too. I think different areas have different methods of collecting payment

Has your municipality just changed payment systems .perhaps?

Some our collected annually,  some twice yearly or  some quarterly.

We pay our basura through our water bill (Guardamar)

Do you have a Vado permanente as they are also collected at this time of year.

It's the new bin Tax (basura) it used to be in with your water Bill's. I also got one for the gardening bins for €8.10 I spoke to Suma online and they said this will come out twice a year. I just wish we got letters telling us.

I'm in Playa flemenca
