Hi Ann,

Certification of non-resident bank account holders may have been free for Caixabank customers, but Sabadell charged their customers for this long before Brexit.  The last time we had to pay, before we became residents in 2017, the charge was €35 each.

Kind regards,

Kim

No it wasn't. We always paid the bank fee for submitting the non resident certificate sine we first bought in 2004 untl we became resident in 2012,. Every two years. You can't blame Brexit for that as EU citizens also pay it.

And that was Bancaja which became Bankia which has now morphed into Caixa.

Over the last 20 years I have been with BBVA then Bankia b4 it became Caixa, pre november 2021, I was always sent a form/emailed every 2 years to prove non residency which I duly returned there was no extra cost involve. Since brexit, it is not possible to do this my bank informed me, new rules, the bank does it automatically, could be a coincidence!
