Good advice … I will do that next time. Thanks :)
you should really go to the doctor, I'm a veterinary nurse and it's not the first time one of my team have been admitted to hospital for a week on iv antibiotics from a cat bite!

Thanks … good advice … I got bitten on Sunday and on Monday I did go to a doctor and got a tetanus shot and a course of amoxycillin. The wound site does not seem to be infected (right forearm) but weirdly I have a stiff right foot now and it is looking red on the top of the arch. It is painful like it could be a strain but I don't remember injuring it. So I'm now thinking of going back to the doctor tomorrow just to make sure everything looks alright. The apartment was invaded by a stray cat last night who I had to chase off. The bite was from the pet house cat which was rehabililtate from becoming a stray; there seems to be so many cats here. Where I come from the RSPCA patrol for feral cats as they are a real danger to wildlife. If they can't be re-homed they are euthanased. The cat that invaded last night (it got into packaged food and I was woken by the commotion) looked like a real bruiser with a missing ear and no fear. I felt sorry for it but I did tip a bucket of water over it as the people I am house-sitting for would be worried for their cat if other cats started hanging around.

Reflecting on your experience with vet staff getting sick from cat bites, it strikes me how unacknowledged and dangerous your work is. Thanks for all you do and for bringing this to my attention. I will definitely be checking with the doctor again tomorrow. x

Hi Ali23, I think I know why the shopkeeper got angry. Maybe it was because when you said “Hay bolsas?” maybe you pronounced “Hay bolas?” (There are bollocks?) ha, ha, ha! If the Spanish shopkeeper understood this mischievous phrase, perhaps he interpreted that you were angry or spoke contemptuously. Anyway, I am surprised that his answer was that in Spanish there is no word "Hay" because it is not true. It is also possible that the shopkeeper was a bit silly or could not treat the public with kindness that should be the norm 1 of the seller's creed.
Do not worry about the matter because kind people and silly people are everywhere and of all nationalities. Best regards

Thanks ... true people are kind or silly everywhere you go. I get a lot of unkind but I'll try not to worry about it. Cheers
