If you look at:

It tells you what you need to do to get an NIE through the consulate - that's much easier than doing it here in Spain. My wife's daughter recently did it at the consulate in Edinburgh, and says it was an easy process.

If you need any help in filling in the EX-15 application form, just ask.

Hi Jim , thanks, i've printed off the Spanish form but don't know what's next -after deciphering the translation . I tried all day to get thru ' to London . I'll try to fill it in later or tomorrow, and see how i get on - I'm in Devon so Edinburgh's a bit outa the question .

I wasn't thinking of you going to Edinburgh, just giving that as an example.

I'm busy at the moment, but have a look at the following for a sample and translation:

Thanks Bob and Jim, If i don't get any joy from London i'll have to do the Benidorm route, i just hadn't envisaged being in Spain again until Notary time. I'm just about to try to fill it in . There's still no answer at the consul .

Hi again, i wasn't sure about section 3 as i don't have a relevant contact /address in Spain so i left it blank.

The consent bit after 4.4 ; on my Spanish form it says 'No consiento', on the translated one it says 'Consiento' and then Londres, would i put my home town or London(if i sign there ?)

It is best to email the Spanish Consolate in London requesting information and forms required. They will send you email with the forms attached, and advise you what to do. There is no appointments for NIE applications you just go and wait in queue. They do not appear to answer there phone so it’s best to go the way of email.  We are going up there next Tuesday renew ours and are prepared to wait in line! 

Just to help here are templates for the forms to guide you. Hope this helps. 

Thanks very much Betty, i can't get any joy with the email address either. It just says there's a problem with the message, and it isn't in my 'sent' or 'outbox' . I've tried 4 times now. I'll try again without clicking the link this time .
