I am sure this will have been asked/answered many times before but I have looked and can't find it (probably user error).
We are in the process of putting in an offer on a property in Calp/Calpe.
Is it common practice to have a survey done? Does anyone know a good surveyor in the area?

It isn't usual practice, but of course it's sensible.
This is one of those cases where you might be better trying to find a British property surveyor. A Spanish surveyor, unless properly instructed, will just produce a description of a property. Insist on a structural survey.

Don Aluminio Building and Reforamtion do property surveys, I have posted a link below for recommendations for them re surveys they have done a lot of work for us and can highly recommend them but I am not sure they travel to your area.

Hi, we purchased our property in Villalonga just over a year ago. I did a lot of research and we used Caroline Just Miro she is based in Gandia and speaks very good English... we met with her prior to taking her services.... she does everything by the book and can advise you on many things. We would never use anyone else. Her email is [email protected]

Sorry posted on wrong post but in answer to your question we did have a survey on our property by a surveyor given by our solicitor. His details were Mark Paddon www.surveysspain.com
