IS THERE ANYONE WHO COULD VOLUNTEER TO VISIT ELDERLY GENTLEMAN IN CARE HOME IN CALPE?
I am a volunteer representing the charity Help of Marina Alta. I assisted in the inital casework to help this person, and previously posted a message on costablancaforum while the gentleman concerned was in El Campello.
He is an elderly British gentleman and was living in a care home in El Campello, and has recently been transferred to a residencia in Calpe.
He has no family, nor friends to visit him or maybe take him out into the town occasionally.
He speaks very little spanish, and most of the care staff do not speak much english.
He is 71 years old, has limited mobility - gets around in a wheelchair, is hard of hearing and has poor sight.
He does not have a computer. Cannot use internet. He has now got a basic mobile phone, but for some reason he can only phone out. He relies on calls to come in through the main switchboard at the residencia, until someone can sort out what has happened.
It would make his quality of life so much better if he could have one or two vistors to go and see him and talk with him for a while and maybe take him out for a ride in his wheelchair when the weather is nice.
Is there anyone out there who would like to volunteer for this?
Please let me know, send me some information about yourself, and phone number - and I will pass them on to the gentleman for him to call you and speak with you.
Thank you for taking the time out to read this request, and I hope to have a few replies to forward to him.
