And now smiling jack's . trinity and macafertys  .not by there own  choice

They are "only" closed for three weeks under the new restrictions, my list are places that have sadly closed permanently after the main lock down that has now ended.

New restrictions in Orihuela and Orihuela Costa brought in yesterday, bars that do not serve food and karaoke bars have been closed for three weeks, they had previously been okay on other restrictions.

I agree but they unfortunately closed for their own reasons and I am sure everywhere .there will be more who can't afford to ride this out ....but just confused about the risk of catching covid in a bar that sells food and a bar that doesn't sell food

I think it more to do with stopping young people gathering  in large numbers in late night bars, no social distancing.

The bars that they have closed on Cabo Roig Strip are not, with all due respect to their customers, frequented by young people but rather mostly mature Expats enjoying their time in Spain whether on holiday or resident and with the bars and customers observing the previous restrictions on distancing, wearing masks, hand sanatising etc. They are shut down purely because they do not serve food, a distinction the Covid-19 Virus does not recognise.

I do feel sorry for those businesses that are closing. I now find myself not even going to my local bars due to having to wear a mask in this heat. So now I use the car to shop and eat and drink at home.

Sadly it is the same for many of us, we would love to support our local businesses but the restrictions, especially face masks, and the chance of people disregarding the regulations when the drink kicks in has put us off, we have turned into home drinkers for the foreseeable future.

It doesn't work, it makes no sense at all.
