Hi Brian,

If you mean you already have an NIE my understanding is that they are not address specific. A bit like your NI number in the UK - it follows you wherever you live.

Hi Steve. Thanks for replying. THats what I thought but I did read somewhere that it does need to

have a change of address made. The NIE does have the original address so I dont know the answer.

Hopefully someone will clarify this for us because I have seen this mentioned in other topic threads.

My NIE was issued in 1984. It has no address listed. However at the bottom it says valid for 3 months but I've been using it for over 30 years!!

If by 'moving' you mean you'll be taking up residence in Denia, I suggest you forget about an address change on the NIE. You'll have to apply for residencia, and that will update your details in the central records. I don't know anyone who has tried to change address for an NIE - there isn't any provision for it.

Hi

To have your address updated against your NIE is different from applying for your residency. Its a separate fee. I have done this. If you live in spain you must update your address. If you were to receive a fine the penalty for not paying on time is huge and will only increase.

If this is correct - and I'm not saying it's incorrect - why was I not advised of the fine when I presented at the Policia Extranjeros for my Residencia?

Hi there. We are moving to Denia next year after spending the last 7 years here in Barcelona.

What with Brexit et al, I think I shall apply for a Residencia when I arrive in Denia, I already

hold a NIE. Can you please advise what forms etc I need and where to go in Denia for the

Residencia. THat would be very helpful. Many thanks.Brian

Sorry, but if you have been resident for seven years and haven't applied for residencia, then you're totally illegal. If you want to do the job properly:
