Sorry if this has been asked before, I will be in el campello for three months from January, as spread is so high my query is, how would I get grocery delivery if I have to isolate? I went on Consum website but to register you need Spanish ID details? Can you phone a local store? Just one of thos...

We have had deliveries from Mercadona and Carrefour, but you are very limited on delivery dates. We are just outside Campello on Dorado Country Club.

Thank you everyone for your comments but  this seems to have become a different debate. I have no intention of breaking any isolation rules hence my question. I was hoping that there might be a local store who would deliver essentials in such cases as there are here, or a way to register wit...

...h a big store but obviously not, I won’t be able to call on a neighbor as I won’t know anyone, but never mind, it’ll have to be a pasta diet if it happens!!!!!

I use Mercadona for regular home deliveries. I think I probably needed my NIE number to register as well as a suitable card. I find plenty of delivery slots are available. 9-11; 12-2; 3-5; 6-8 I seem to recall. Every day apart from Sunday and fiestas.

It depends on the area you live. We applied and you have to fill in your post code, which we did 03170 for Rojales and up came a message basically informing me that the home delivery service is not yet available in this area.

There are lots of delivery slots. what I meant by my comment was that they tend to go very quickly.

If you get stuck I would come on here and ask for help. I'm sure lots of people would help if you messaged them privately.  That's the difference between UK and Spain. In the first big lockdown Tesco, Sainsbury's etc upped their game and took on extra drivers and made more home deliveries than ever and made oodles of profit while Mercadona stopped home delivery ! Don't get me wrong and reply. There's lots of areas where Spain is better than the UK. It's just that home delivery of groceries is not one !

I find this really nonsensical. Not difficult to have a few days supply of food in. So if you get COVID and feel a bit crap for a few days then all ok. If you don’t feel crap, then take all sensible precautions, and go out and get a few essentials. I really don’t know why people are crapping themselves over this…..just take precautions and be sensible….. oh…and this is from someone who has had COVID.

If you get covid. It's not just a couple of days! My friend just starting to feel a little better now after testing positive...2 weeks later. Her husband still not right yet so still self isolating. Where does a couple of days come into it?

Sorry but Omicron is really catching. It is best that anyone who has Covid stays at home and isolates for the set time. Different people react differently to Covid and you were lucky to get it mildly.

We were in Coveta Fumá during the first lock down and Carrefour San Juan were great at home delivery (fortunately we know better than washing every item now!). I think we may have been given priority as over 70s. We placed orders on-line but their WhatsApp is +34 602 53 57 94

Is it any wonder that Covid spreads so easily when we read comments telling us to go shopping when we have it. It doesn't matter if one feels well or not, if you have Covid then you must isolate not go shopping. Oh dear.
