Yes you are correct re.the 72 hrs

I have investigated most of the people offering compliant tests

And the Airport one is not only the cheapest, but as it is carried out at the airport obviously you have to attend a day or two prior your flight date/ time to make sure your result is no more than 72 hrs old upon arrival in Spain

And as the test is done and analysed at the airport they guarantee your result within 24 hrs, such affords you more time to meet the 72 hr.requirement and enables you to plan

With a high degree of confidence

Whilst Boots are more expensive but will not guarantee result within 48 hrs

And all other testers are also more expensive and dependant upon the vagracies of UK postal system.E.G.if you flying on a Monday or Tuesday you are going to have serious problems with regards to a 72 hr result as Saturday and Sundays do not count as postal days

Finally the rapid flow test although very fast, unfortunately gives you a positive result

If you actually had covid but did not have covid symptoms and that may have been 6 months earlier

As the test is for anti bodies to the virus and not for the virus

Until

1.Enough people vaccinated

2.A rapid test result for Presence of covid virus only and not anti bodies is available

Then the Airport test is currently the best in town for reliability, convenience, cost & ensuring your (if neg.) Result that is 72 hr compliant at your arrival airport

Could anyone advise what to do if you are using the euro tunnel or ferry regarding the PCR test

Thank you

As far as I know, no test needed.

Thank you for that!

Unfortunately, for many people, this will be very expensive with extra stay in hotels for 1 - 2 nights. I have decided to use The Doctors Lab. You can get a kit well in advance and post the sample with guaranteed next day delivery 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain. You will likely have the test results back by email next day, latest the day of departure. The uncertainty was the Christmas post, but I cannot see other labs being open over Christmas / New Year.

The alternative is driving - no tests required on arrival......

Change of plan. TDL has to be requested through a doctor. It looks like Boots is best, spread over the at least some of the country.

£120.00.

Hi

Tests are available at Gatwick & Edinburgh Airports and Testing company rolling out soon to other Airports

If 2 passengers discount  takes cost down to £ 80 each

If not positive result you given

1.Your Neg test result

2.Ok to fly certificate but check if Airline will accept

Your test is on site at airport and result guaranteed by E mail within 48 hrs

Which gives you spare time capacity for the Spanish rule of 72 hrs for neg result

Testing company is rolling out very soon to other airports

But their online book a test just launched

Yesterday and big faults so for now telephone booking

You if passengers need to have your

1 Passport

2 Flight No.and Airline

Early evidence it is working and bookings increasing now

Tel.booking line long queue

Suggest you google Edinburgh Airport Covid tests for all info so you can contact

Testing Company to see what other airports they are going to open in and the date

hi,

just by way of an update i have just booked 2 no test at a cost of £60 per person, yes busy but half the price.

expresstest.co.uk and there working out of one of gatwicks car parks in the south terminal...

Just a heads up on the Boots test. A friend of mine has been trying to book a test prior to his return journey. He said last week they were only releasing appointments a day at a time so many days in advance and it appears they quickly get taken up. After his initial failure, he believes they are probably released at midnight (UK time), so was going to try and get on line to book one just after midnight.

Good luck.

as stated to others on this thread, testexpress.co.uk are currently offering the fit to fly test in gatwick south terminal car park for £60 pp, they do not guarantee results back in 24hrs they only try, so please give yourself enough time... we are flying on a Wednesday morning and have a test booked on the sunday evening.

it is subsidized  by Gatwick airport ,you will need your passport number, flight number and all the usual info.you will also need to print a qr code.....good luck all...

Hi Katie81,

do you have any more info about the Easyjet testing plans? We are scheduled to fly Easyjet from Luton to Alicante in January, I could not see any info re tests on their website.

Many thanks.

Hi! It wouldn’t let me post the link, but it’s on the easyjet help page - category- Covid 19 help under Covid test. I’ve attached a screenshot with voucher code. Brings down a family of 4 from nearly £500 to £300- huge saving!
