Hi, does anyone know if I use the International application form for this (it doesn't look as if it's been updated since years before Brexit, or do I use the form I would use if I was still living in the UK? I have a code to access this. Anyone applied out here recently?

Many thanks in advance

Fastest way is to ring them, as mentioned above all sorted in a few minutes.

Have your details to hand ie NI number etc and the application should be painless.

My wife applied for her pension last year. We live in Spain permanently and all it took was a phone call to the relevant department and all sorted within 10 mins.

Hi, I never received a letter and just filled out the international form on line. Very easy. 2-3 months before you birthday. 11 days after my birthday I received a part payment, 28 days later a full payment. Hope this helps 👍

The international form is asking for all sorts of original documents to be posted back to the UK to verify the claim- did you have to do that? Thanks for your help

Just ring them up, I did it about three weeks ago, pension due to start end of  September.  As you live overseas you can apply 4 months before your birthday. As Steve says it took about 10 minutes. You need your NI number, your partners NI number and your bank details. If you’re wanting to be paid into a Spanish bank, you’ll need the Swift code as well as the IBAN number. Yes they ask loads of questions and lots are duplicated, but you are just verifying the information they already have on record.  You do get asked for  some weird and wonderful information, but if you’ve got the form to hand then you’ll know what information they’ll ask. I didn’t have a form, but fortunately managed to remember the right dates.

I got a text message the following day to say my request had been approved.  The whole process from phone call to approval was less then 24 hours

I only sent back marriage certificate and birth certificate with the form. The two documents were returned within 3 weeks. I was very very vague about my work history, as I was a temp in the UK working all over the place for 18 months and I’ve been asleep since then 🙄. So I was NOT precise with dates. But they know when you have worked and what contributions you have paid in, because I looked at mine on the website with my gateway number 👍
